Agent
Responsibilities
Agents will be responsible for the following:
Provide all meals,
transportation, and housing, and animals in the case of a Reproduction Lab
or a hands-on day.
Secure
the locations for all sessions except for the End Product.
Collect
the registration fee from each participant and provide Lori Porter with a
receipt of all paid participants before the first session.
Have
producers attend 8 of the 10 sessions in order to graduate as a Master
Cattleman.
Since
the Master Cattleman Program has a significant amount of classroom
instruction, you must contact the chairperson if your group would like to
have an alternative or additional (to the classroom instruction) hands-on
session or alter the curriculum in anyway.
Contact participants about meeting dates.
If the group chooses to use participants’ hay samples for the hay quality section, a representative of the group needs to gather the hay samples from participants and arrange to have the samples tested by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture Hay Testing Program (1-800-248-4628) at least 10-14 days prior to the Forages Session. Additionally, the hays and the results of the hay test should be provided for visual appraisal at the hay quality section.
