Forklift “Train the Trainer” Program

This program was developed by personnel with the Department of Forestry at the University and personnel from the Kentucky Forest Industry Association. This program was developed to educate the wood industry about the new change in regulation that went into effect in late 1999 regarding forklift training. The group put together a complete package containing all of the information pertinent to meeting Kentucky OSHA regulation on this subject. The package contains an outline on conducting appropriate forklift trainings, a video, certification cards, daily checklist, and an article outlining the regulation. This package can generally be provided at no cost. As well in-plant training can also be acquired when requested.
